some updates about what has happened so far....Austria is amazingly beautiful....we went to vienna first...a nice beautiful city...the climb to the top in the kings palace is a memorable thing....the archway at the top looks like a good painting from the bottom and you can see the whole city from the top....full of figurines and wonderfully designed leafy archways.....the city looks very colorful by night...btw it has an excellent system of metro and trams....i did not like the metro in paris....the tunnels are really dark and u can see wires running around - not a good finish in all.
The swarovsky crystal palace is again a wonder the only prob is that things are expensive (theres a shop at the end of the tour). however a very good collection where u can browse for hourse. i liked the moving song and the dome the best in the museum.
Salzburg is amazing. u can keep walking and never get tired of the beauty around you. in salzburg, buses run on electricity. the whole town in obsessed with Mozart since it is his birthplace.
Eurail is even better than the movies! and a huge variety of trains....i think they never make a model twice :-) i ll upload pics as soon as i get time.
germany is of course not as beautiful....however frankfurt hauptbahnhoff (the main train station) is a towering sprawling structure. the journey out of frankfurt is full of tunnels cut into the forest....u can see lots of industries even from the train.
Koln is much more modern and hip than i expected....and god, i think it shud be called the city of banks! all banks were there and deustche bank had three huge buildings in a row!
English was not a problem in austria, much to our delight...in germany also we have got english speaking ppl so far...and germany is so cheap, our friends in wuppertaal are having a great time....
Well now we start our drive thru germany. its 24th morning now, we leave for berlin in 10 mins....we will be going to berlin, leipzig, black forest, schauffhausen, munich and then onto switzerland - zurich, bern, lucern, interlaken and jungfrau....back to sweet home next wed night.....
dint even realize when diwali came and went.....
