MDI Revisited

after a week of lying down in bed and trying to get some rest, it was not surprising that tonight i was not feeling at all sleepy when the fever finally subsided and i began feeling more like myself. I decided to do something special to celebrate my resurrection and i thought i would watch the MDI videos and write them on disks. I started with a supply chain presentation by No.1 and it had me in fits, laughing out really loud.
Imagine a typical presentation scenario with your ppt blown up on the projector and No 1 ready to read off the lines though he would have a least idea of the context. And the guy beside the computer to change slides was none other than singla whose ability to bring the ppt back to decency after No1's attack was doubtful from the onset. The final nail in the coffin was the prof - I think his name was Samir Srivastava or smthg - a fastidious prof who took his subject seriously but made the mistake of taking the students and their ppts seriously too.
The ppt was a real hit from start to finish....i think i will have to upload it on youtube (if not done already). junta shouldnt be deprived of it.
and yes, singla can be seen doubling up with laughter from start to finish too....i can only understand the magnitude of the temptation when you are standing in front of the class and the serious prof and still you are not able to control you laughing fit, let one trying to rescue the presentation
some eg:
No1 says something about mass customization and the prof catches him bang on...No 1 tries to pass it off with repeating the same sentence and then quickly moving on to the next one...but the prof is too smart! No1 realises that the prof has caught him out and gives a benign smile and a look you would give a child for a real smart answer!! Singla tries to pitch in to help No1 out but is not able to come out of his laughing fit. Then AG's voice can be heard trying to do some random DCP......
The prof admonishes them about using terms which they do not understand, and No1 gives him a pitying look - as if it was clear to everyone, it was the prof who did not understand....again singla can be seen in the background continuously laughing....
there is some fighting between singla and No1 regarding who will present the next slide and finally singla wins and our hero is bak in the dock....he starts off with the confident tone but somehow there are so many hand gestures that the last words of the sentence are fully in sign language!
Then comes smthg with traditional methods of supply chain - the prof's sensibilities get real hurt and he asks them about what they actually mean by this word - and you can never imagine No1's answer - "traditional methods of supply chain are those which were traditionally used"!!!!!! and this too was said with the look and attitude of explaining a very simple point to a very dull child.......and yes, singla is still laughing in the background!
