Marriage Season

Its marriage season....People are getting married right, left and centre!!! but the marriage i will miss most is tomorrow....CA aur uske doll ki shadi....most of my friends are married now and i have missed most of them! this was on the "must attend" list....but sadly life does not always work out the way we want it to.....this was one affair -> marriage road which we traversed with CA....everybody knows him for his night outs with his reliance phone....and whenever u go to his room in the eveninings u wud be greeted by the picture of CA mapping the corridors with the phone in his hand.....i can never forget our gang sitting together and strategising about the best way to approach his parents for his marriage(he was scared stiff of telling his dad even though his girlfriend was a marwari and that too from calcutta).....and how many times we wrangled a treat out of him in the name of love (of course under the leadership of the able neta!)......the shopping trips for him where we desperately looked for gifts which cud be couriered.....and most of all his courier packets....varsha used to send lots of chocolates and i attribute at least 2 kgs of my weight increase to chocolates from bombay! and then the dialogue "CA kamjor nahi hai"!!!! well its true and well said....he had the strength to be ready to compromise for the girl he loved and those who have seen him can only know how scared stiff he was, still he never even once thot of putting the onus of informing his dad on anybody else! he has the strength to plunge into the dark unknown with only his belief in their relationship for support!!! heavy dialogues but when u r as old as me, then u think of these things....coz u have seen relationhips breaking sadly apart due to lack of trust and belief and faith in the bond that tied them together!!!

another reason for the wedding being close to my heart is that we friends were involved in it right from the beginning to the end.....he shared with us each and every moment and step in the long road leading to the marriage....even when i was in europe i wud get all updates....there are so many "good friends" who just invite u to the wedding and think the friendship deserves nothing more. But when u r close to a person, the marriage is just the final confirmation of a relationship u have seen develop and grow and help nurture....but lets not be too philosophical on such a happy occasion....
i am going to regret my absence for the whole of my life.....a well deserving ending to a great story and all my wishes for the new couple....
