The road home

life is not always mundane and traffic is not always frustrating....the drive from office to home should ideally take me 20-25 minutes if there is no traffic.....most days it takes me 40 min and sometimes even 50 min when the rush is specially heavy or theres been an accident (happens at least twice a week on this route)....it gets boring as you are tired after a long day at office and you just wish to get over with the cooking and fall into bed.....your leg aches from constantly pressing and releasing the clutch.....and the mind irritated with radio mirchi.....aise mein kuch ho jisse aisa lage ki "is suhane safar ki manzil na aane paye".....

it was a really good looking guy in the car behind me! i just glanced at my rear view mirror while waiting for the traffic to start and what do i see??? i rarely find a guy pleasing to the eye but this one rated very high! and he was alone:-) and he was wearing his seat belt! (i take that as sign of being a conscientious driver)..... you can imagine what happened after that....the drive was so difficult with one eye constantly on the rear view mirror and the other sometimes on the road ahead.....i never knew how difficult it is to keep pace.....you need to drive fast enough so that car following you does not overtake you and slow enough to clearly see the guy in the driving seat :-) needlessly pressing the brake so that your brake lights light up and illuminate the windshield of the car behind you and you can scrutinize the driver better.....i was sure i would knock someone that day!!

but like all good things, this also came to an end...although i am happy that the traffic was specially worse that day! i considered going further, luckily i remembered my priorities.....so now i try to buck myself whenever i get stuck in traffic - shayad koi aisa mil jaye jiske sath safar (and suffer) ka pata hi na chale.....

Note:- before people like ramya start asking why dint i follow him...talk to him..etc....i would like to reiterate that i am pretty sure that once he opened his mouth, all the impression would have gone kaput....so its better to leave it at that....at least i ve an illusion which need not be shattered.....
